Ye Shaoyong is currently an associate professor (tenured) in the Department of South Asian Studies at the School of Foreign Languages, Peking University, and the Director and Doctoral Supervisor of Research Institute of Sanskrit Manuscripts and Buddhist Literature, Peking University. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2002, and then studied in the Department of Eastern Languages at the School of Foreign Languages, Peking University, where he received his Master’s degree in 2005 and his Doctorate in 2009. His main research areas are Sanskrit Buddhist literature, Sanskrit writing and philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism. He is the author of books including Mūlamadhyamakakārikā: New Editions of the Sanskrit, Tibetan and Chinese Versions, with Commentary and a Modern Chinese Translation (2011) and An Annotated Chinese Translation of the Buddhapālitamūlamadhyamakavṛtti (2021), as well as more than 30 articles.
