Liu Wei is an associate professor (tenure track) and doctoral supervisor at School of Archaeology and Museology, Peking University, from which he graduated with a Ph.D. in history in 2011. He previously worked in Institute of Archaeology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics from 2004 to 2006, and then in School of History, Renmin University of China from 2011 to 2019. His main research areas are archaeology of Song and Yuan Dynasties, archaeology for ceramics, and urban archaeology. His representative publications include The Integration of Archaeology and History: From Complementary to Homogeneity to Interactive Heterogeneity (Journal of Chinese Historical Studies, No. 3, 2021); Objects, Images and Texts: The Song-Yuan Period’s Tomb Deities and Devils” (Palace Museum Journal, No. 11, 2021); On the Chinese Song-Yuan Ceramics Excavated in Central Asia and Eastern Europe (Palace Museum Journal, No. 6, 2022), etc.
