Gui Yongtao is the Vice President of School of International Studies and Institute of International Strategic Studies at Peking University. His main research area is Sino-US-Japanese relations. He is the author of journal articles such as Economic Statecraft, Economic Security and New Trends in U.S. and Japan’s Policies toward China; Japan and the U.S.-China Strategic Competition: Trade War, Technology War, and the Indo-Pacific Strategy; The Strategic Value of the Okinawa Bases and the Transformation of the U. S.-Japan Alliance; Competing in the Gray-zone: A New Situation in U. S.-Japan Engagement with China; The Politics of TPP: The Motivation and Predicament of U. S.-Japan Cooperation, etc. He previously lectured at the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Hokkaido University, University of Vienna, and University of Würzburg.
