YAO Dadui is currently an associate professor of the Department of Chinese, Sun Yat-Sen University. From 2011 to 2013 he was a visiting fellow at Harvard-Yenching Institute. His researches mainly focus on the cultural communication between China and the West in Late Qing period, and cover the fields of comparative literature, translation studies, and literary theories. His recent publications include Heralding the Modern Age: Christian Literature of the Late Qing Period (2018) and Early Modern Cultural Communication and Comparative Literature (2018).
