Fu Shen, born in 1937, graduated from National Taiwan Normal University and obtained arts master degree. He went to the United States to study Chinese history in the department of art and archaeology of Princeton university and obtained his PH.D at 1968. He has been a researcher of the national Palace Museum in Taipei, an associate professor at Yale university, and a professor at the art history institute of Taiwan university. Now he is a guidance member of Taipei "Palace Museum", a professor of art history institute of Taiwan university ,and visiting researcher of Beijing Palace Museum. His main research fields are the history of Chinese calligraphy and painting and the identification of calligraphy and painting. He has published Studies in Connoisseurship: Chinese Paintings from the Arthur M. Sackler Collection in New York and Princeton, the world of Zhang Daqian, etc.
