FAN Jinshi is the Honorary Director of Dunhuang Research Academy, and the Chief Editor of Dunhuang Research. She has been engaged for long in grotto archaeology, grotto protection and management. She has made considerable efforts to protect, research and promote the Dunhuang Grottoes, which has greatly enhanced the modernization level of the scientific protection and management of the Dunhuang Grottoes. She also serves as a Member of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, an eighth to the twelfth Member of the CPPCC National Committee, the eleventh ACWF Executive Committee, the Honorary Director of the Dunhuang and Turpan Academy of China and the Honorary President of China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation.
