        LIU Yonghua    

        LIU Yonghua is a professor in the Department of History at Fudan University. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Xiamen University, and a Ph.D. in McGill University. His research interests include Ming and Qing socio-cultural and socio-economic history, with a particular focus on the transformation of the middle and late Ming, rural rituals, literacy, textual circulation, and spatial and temporal spheres, and the practice of historiographical fieldwork and folklore interpretation. He has published Confucian Rituals and Chinese Villagers: Ritual Change and Social Transformation in a Southeastern Chinese Community, 1368-1949 (2013). In recent years, he is engaged in the study of the life of a Huizhou peasant household in the 19th century, with a publication coming soon.
