        HAN Qi    

        HAN Qi, graduated from the Institute of the History of Natural Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991 with a doctorate in the history of science, is currently a professor of the History of Science and Technology Department of the School of Humanities of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Corresponding Academician of the International Academy of History of Science, an editorial board member of Archive for History of Exact Sciences and Annals of Science, and a member of the Historia Scientiarum International Advisory Committee. In 2014, he was invited to give a 45-minute special lecture at the 27th International Congress of Mathematicians. He used to be the vice director and distinguished researcher of the Institute of the History of Natural Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the editor-in-chief of Research on the History of Natural Sciences, and the vice chairman of the International Society for the History of East Asia Science, Technology and Medical. His researches mainly focus on the history of science, of Sino-Western cultural exchanges, and of Catholicism in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the history of printing in China, and the history of geology in the Republic of China. He has published Western Spread of Chinese Science and Technology and Its Influence (1582-1793) and Studies up to heaven: The Spread of Jesuits and Astronomy in China (which won the Book Award of the 11th International Conference of Asian Studies Scholars, Honorary Mention Award), and Kangxi Emperor· Jesuit· Science Spread. He revised and enlarged History of Printing in China (authored by Zhang Xiumin) (which won the first China Publishing Government Award), co-edited The Collection of Chongzheng in Xi Dynasty and The Final Case of the Xi Dynasty (external three kinds), Compilation of Yongzheng and Qianlong Catholic Documents in Europe, etc., and published over 100 academic papers.
