        XIAO Tie    

        XIAO Tie is currently an associate professor of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, Indiana University. He received his doctoral degree in 2011 from Chicago University. From 2011 to 2012 he served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Chinese Studies, University of California, Berkeley, and in 2015 he was a visiting fellow at the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study, France. His research interests lie primarily in modern Chinese literature and history of ideas. His publications include a monograph entitled Revolutionary Waves: The Crowd in Modern China (Harvard, 2017), as well as many original novels and short stories in Chinese.
