PENG Chunling is currently an associate research fellow of the Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She received her doctoral degree in 2011 from the Department of Chinese, Peking University. From August 2014 to July 2015 she was a visiting scholar at Harvard-Yenching Institute, and since 2009 she has served for many times as a visiting fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, University of Tokyo. Her major research field is modern Chinese history of ideas. Apart from more than 30 academic papers, she has published a monograph entitled The Transformation of Confucianism: A Study of Kang Youwei and Zhang Taiyan, 1898-1927 (2014).
