        LIU Zhiwei    

        LIU Zhiwei is the Director of the Center for Historical Anthropology of Sun Yat-sen University and the Deputy President of the Chinese Association of Social History. He received his Master's degree from the Department of History of Sun Yat-sen University in 1984 and has been teaching at Sun Yat-sen University since then. He was a former Director of the History Department at Sun Yat-sen University. He was a visiting professor at National Taiwan University, National Chiao Tung University, National Chi Nan University, and a visiting scholar at Oxford University and Yale University. His research fields are the social and economic history of Ming and Qing Dynasties and studies of rural Chinese society. His main works include Searching for China in History: Dialogues on the Epistemology of Regional History Studies (2019), Between State and Society: Lijia Institution and Rural Society in Guangdong Area in Ming and Qing Dynasties (2005).
