        WANG Fanshen    

        WANG Fanshen is a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in East Asian Studies from Princeton University in 1993. His research mainly focusses on Chinese Thought History from Ming-Qing Dynasty to modern times, Cultural History, Academic History and Historiography. In recent years, Wang has been working on the “Neo Tradition Era” of China, including the political implications of Song Dynasty Neo-Confucianism. His main publications include Chang T’ai-yen and His World, The Rise of the Ku-shih-pien Movement, Fu Ssu-nien: A Life in Chinese History and Politics, Genealogy of Modern Chinese Thought, Ten Essays on Late Ming and Early Ch’ing Intellectual History, The Capillary Effects of Power: Intellectual, Mentality and Scholarship in the Ch’ing Period.
