YANG Jianhua was born in 1955 in Changchun. She is a professor of the Center of Frontier Archaeology at Jilin University. She graduated from Department of History at Jilin University and obtained her MA and PhD degrees of history in 1984 and 2001. She also serves as a committee of Archaeological Society of China, and an academic committee of the Center for Foreign Archaeology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She is mainly engaged in researches on history of foreign archaeology, prehistory archaeology of east Asia and Mesopotamia, and archaeology of pre-Qin northern China and of Eurasian steppes.
