ZHANG Bangwei, born in 1940, entered the Department of History of Lanzhou University in 1957 and obtained his Master degree atNorthwest Normal University in 1964. He has been serving as Instructor, Vice Professor and Professor at the Department of History of Sichuan Normal University since 1980. Retired in 2008, he was now appointed as Distinguished Professor at the Department of History of Capital Normal University. He has published over 100 historical theses and critics in journals includingHistorical Research, Journal of Chinese Historical Studies, New History, etc.
