ZHANG Hao is the director of the Laboratory of Rural Sociology at the Center for Rural Environmental Social Studies (CRESS) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He graduated from the Department of Sociology of Peking University with a PhD in 2007, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2007 to 2010. His main research areas are Chinese rural studies and Chinese social transformation. He has recently published a monograph Diversity in Unity: A Comparative Study of Liang Shuming’s and Fei Xiaotong’s Thoughts on Rural Reconstruction, and a dozen articles in Sociological Research, Society, and Chinese Social Science.
