NIE Weimeng is a lecturer at the School of History, Capital Normal University. She entered Peking University in 2004 and received her double BA in literature and history and a PhD in history there. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Peking University from 2014 to 2016, and was an assistant researcher at the School of History, Nanjing University from 2016 to 2019. She specializes in the history of the Qin, Han, Wei, Jin and North and South Dynasties. In recent years, she has focused on the codification and administration of documents from this period, and has a long experience of working on the collation of historical documents in the Middle Ages. She has published a monograph entitled The Operation and Evolution of the Official History System in the Middle Ages, co-edited a collection of essays entitled The Origin of Editions and the Proofreading of Proper History, and published more than twenty papers in such journals as Journal of Chinese Historical Studies, Journal of Literature and History, Journal of Chinese Literature and History, Tang Research, and Historical Review.
