DING Detian is currently an associate research fellow at the Dunhuang Academy and an editor of Dunhuang Research. Majoring in archaeology and museology, he received his doctoral degree in 2016 from the School of History and Culture, Lanzhou University. His major research interests are grotto archeology, Buddhist art, and Dunhuang studies. His current research projects include the study of the introduction of Buddhism to China, the dating of early grottoes, and the application of technology in grotto archeology. Apart from 11 academic papers, he has also edited a collection of essays on Shengrong Temple, Gansu, which is to be published by Lanzhou University Press in October 2020.
