ZHENG Shaoxiong is an associate researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from Wuhan University, and earned his Ph.D in social anthropology from Peking University in 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Dr. Zheng’s research focuses on Sino-Tibetan relationship, the image of Kangba Tibetan Areas in literature and art, historical anthropology, environmental anthropology, etc. He is the author of the book Kangding Native Chieftains between the Han Chinese and Tibetans: A Life History of the Last Mingzheng Tusi (1902-1922) (SDX & Harvard-Yenching Academic Library, 2016), co-editor of North-Ming Fish: Anthropologists’ Field Stories (The Commercial Press, 2016), and co-translator of Stone Age Economics (SDX Joint Publishing Company, 2009/2019). He has published dozens of papers, and serves as an anonymous reviewer for several journals.
