QIU Yuanyuan is a researcher at the Institute of History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She earned her Ph.D in history from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2006. Her research ranges from the ceremony system in the Qing Dynasty, the Eight Banner System, to the social history of north China and Manchu History. Dr. Qiu’s publications include books The Court Rites and Music During the Early Qing, The Search for Bannermen Communities in Beijing Suburbs: Marginal Groups in Perspectives of Narratives and Literature, etc. Besides, she has published over 30 papers in Journal of Chinese Historical Studies, The Qing History Journal, etc.
