Zhe
Ji is a Doctorial Tutor on sociology and anthropology at the Institut National
des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), and the Director of CEIB. His
main researches are Chinese Buddhism and social change, religious education,
religious globalization, and the theory of religion sociology. In the past
twenty years, by combining fieldwork and document analysis, he has studied the
impetus, process and end of the reconstruction of Chinese Buddhism. He has also
directed several international research programs on temporary Chinese Buddhism.
In 2004, he was elected a Member Junior of IUF for his research on the
temporary Chinese Buddhism and the politico-religious relationship.
